Our Mission

The Tri‑County Memorial Honor Guard Team, representing American Legion Post 30 of Albany and Post 335 of Sylvester, is dedicated to rendering Military Funeral Honors and supporting approved patriotic functions throughout Dougherty, Lee, Worth, and surrounding counties (Usually within a 100 Mile radius). We serve with dignity, precision, and unwavering respect for those who have worn the uniform of the United States Armed Forces.

Who We Serve

In accordance with Public Law 106‑65,  it guarantees Military Funeral Honors for every eligible Veteran upon request, requiring a minimum of a two‑person uniformed detail to fold and present the U.S. flag and sound “Taps.”  Tri‑County Memorial Honor Guard stands ready to support and enhance these honors with additional ceremonial elements. Military Funeral Honors are provided at no cost to the families of:

A copy of the DD‑214 or other proof of honorable service is required to confirm eligibility.

Requesting Military Funeral Honors

To ensure proper coordination and a dignified ceremony, families should follow these steps:

1. Contact the Funeral Home

The Funeral Director is the primary point of contact for arranging Military Funeral Honors. They will verify service eligibility and contact the appropriate military branch to request the official honors detail. Military Funeral Honors Directory

2. Provide Required Documentation

Please have the following available:

If a DD‑214 is not available, it may be requested through the National Archives (archives.gov/veterans).

3. Tri‑County Memorial Honor Guard Participation

Once the funeral home has coordinated with the military branch, the Tri‑County Memorial Honor Guard may be requested to support the ceremony. Our participation may include:

What Families Can Expect

The United States military provides a minimum two‑person uniformed detail, including at least one member from the veteran’s branch of service, who will:

Once service verification is complete, the Funeral Director or designated family representative should initiate the request. For coordination and scheduling of Military Funeral Honors, please contact the Tri‑County Memorial Honor Guard Team through either of the participating post coordinators, ensuring that all individuals listed below are copied on the request.

To support proper preparation, personnel assignment, and prompt posting of ceremony notices, please provide all requested information at least 48 hours in advance whenever possible.
